I believe that you can create the change and happiness that you want.
Many times we have become experts at using various tools in our life and they have served us well, kept us safe, and helped us overcome obstacles in our lives. Maybe for you, this tool is anger, defensiveness, eagerness to please, or maybe, silence. Now, these tools, have value and as I have said, may have served you well. However, is this tool still serving you the way that it used to? Or, has it come to hinder you?
My approach to therapy is strength based, with the overarching goal to help individuals, couples, and families gain awareness of the patterns in their life and how these patterns are influencing their current relationships with their partners, colleagues, family and friends. I want to help add to your tool box and instead of automatically using the tools you have always used... I want to clarify, I have no desire to take those tools away from you, but only to offer you an opportunity to add to you. I would like you to know, that you have the choice to respond in new ways that are beneficial to you, your relationships, and in all avenues of your life.
I have experience working with individuals who have been impacted by complex trauma. From serving veterans who were experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, to children and families who were overcoming sexual abuse. My youngest client has been 3 years old and my eldest was over 65+. I am an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and I support the BIPOC community. I have successfully worked with couples who were overcoming affairs, deciding to separate, transitioning to healthy co-parenting, and premarital counseling. With every person, couple and family I sought to help them find their own empowerment. To believe in their strength, abilities, and that they are the experts in the own life with the capability to reach their desired goals.
I am grateful that you are sharing this time in your journey with me. It is been an honor to connect with everyone that I have met. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about you.
