Taking the first step of signing up for therapy can be hard, that is an accomplishment. Whatever the reason is that you find yourself looking for extra support, I am here to support you on the way. We are all deserving of a chance to heal.
I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois with over 5 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of presenting issues. My expertise falls heavily in interpersonal partner violence, sexual assault and abuse, and relationship issues. Relationships greatly impact our abilities to heal, I want to be able to normalize the pain and grief around them as well as celebrate the good times. I am not only comfortable, but passionate about talking about topics related to sexual health and reproductive health. I have my 40 hour domestic violence training in the state of Illinois. I also have had intensive experience in working with folks with a history of substance use, incarceration, and homelessness.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Therapy is a time where things that we have put " away" come up, I want to be able to assist on this journey with you. Sessions may be hard and challenging, but that is when we know it is working. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and use of Dialectical Behavioral skills. A " harm reduction" approach is used often, lets try to cut things down slowly rather then all at once. I am able to provide intentional work In between sessions if wanted. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Most importantly, I believe in a holistic approach, when all parts of our lives are addressed, it is much easier to feel at peace.
I am always open to ideas and feedback. This is your time to heal.
